A highly profile workshop involving conservationists started early hours of today morning in Serengeti with a special agenda of developing an integrated water resources management plan for the Tanzania’s world famous Serengeti National Park(SENAPA) .
In his brief opening remarks, SENAPA Chief Park Warden Senior Assistant Conservation Commissioner Masana Mwishawa underscored the importance of conserving water
sources within and around the great Serengeti ecosystem.
“We can cannot only
conserve water sources that are available in the park but also we must conserve
water sources found outside the park”, the chief park warden said.
Mara River is one of
the key rivers that support wildlife conservation in the Serengeti ecosystem.
CES, a German consultancy
firm is expected to present fresh study findings about the current situation of
water at the Serengeti ecosystem during the long day workshop taking place
at Seronera, the headquarters of SENAPA.
