Fall armyworms battle intensified in Tanzania

Project Concern International (PCI) Tanzania has said
it will intensify its battle against fall armyworms that destroys
crop farms especially maize and millet in Mara Region, thanks to the United
States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for supporting the initiative.
The initiative seeks to improve food security in the
region and support school feeding programmes in ,
according the PCI Tanzania Head of Agriculture Department Amithay Kuhanda.
Kuhanda said this during the Regional Consultative
Committee (RCC) latest session sat in Musoma recently. Mara Regional
Commissioner Adam Malima chaired the RCC session.

government of Tanzania is also taking part by providing extension officers who
are directly involved in the battle.
