Tanzania participates in Madrid international tourism fair

The 43rd International Tourism Fair dubbed (FITUR) kicked off in Madrid Spain yesterday, with the United Republic of Tanzania being represented by Tanzania Tourist Board, TANAPA, Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority and the Private Sector.

According to a TANAPA official, the five-day global event is scheduled to run from 18th to 22nd January, 2023.

During the opening day, officials at the Tanzania pavilion welcomed a delegation of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), led by Elcia Grandcourt, the Director of the Regional Department in Africa, based in Paris.

Ms Elcia acknowledged the good relationship between UNWTO and the United Republic of Tanzania, and commended the government for promoting tourism worldwide.

Visitors to the Tanzania pavilion expressed their appreciation of the country’s efforts to promote its various tourist attractions.


A potential Spanish tourist, Ms Marta Garcia said she was looking forward to coming to Tanzania for her upcoming honeymoon.

“I’m excited to visit Arusha, Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Zanzibar. I expect to see a lot of things there,’’ says Ms Garcia.

Meanwhile, many visitors flocked to the Tanzania pavilion seeking to get information on various tourist attractions in the country. Embassy officials in Madrid also graced the occasion.
