President John Magufuli today ordered part of Selous Game
Reserves to become a National Park.
The new park will be named Mwalimu Nyerere National
Park, the President directed.
He instructed
Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism to divide the Game Reserve and made
large part of it a national park immediately.
By so doing Selous will offer multiple benefits to
the nation, Dr Magufuli said .
But the President said part of Selous will remind to be a Game Reserve. He insisted said that investors operating in the game reserve's hunting blocks will continue with their operations without any interference.
